Highlights of the Tour

Itinerary

You’ll be picked up from your hotel and taken to Terminal 1 for your flight from Zanzibar to Ruaha. On arrival, our driver-guide will meet you, and, after a short briefing, take you to the lodge for lunch. You’ll enjoy a game drive on the way. Later, you can relax at the lodge or take in the sights around you. There is a good chance you’ll spot elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, and more.

There's no rush, but the best times to spot wildlife are early morning and late afternoon. With your packed lunch, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Later, stop for a picnic or a hot lunch back at your lodge. Nearly the size of the Serengeti, Ruaha is full of life. It is home to over 350 bird species and rich wildlife along the Great Ruaha River, where lions, leopards, jackals, hyenas, and wild dogs roam.

Start the day with an early morning walking safari led by an armed ranger, an incredible way to get close to nature. Afterward, return to the lodge for breakfast. Then head out for a full day of game drives in Ruaha National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a picnic. Ruaha offers a raw, less crowded experience. It's also the only park in Tanzania where you can spot the greater kudu in its natural setting.

After a morning of relaxation or an early breakfast, you’ll transfer to the local airport for your flight. The flight offers a scenic view of Tanzania’s landscapes, and upon arrival in Zanzibar, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your accommodation. You can then unwind and enjoy the beautiful beaches, culture, and unique atmosphere of Zanzibar, marking the perfect transition from a safari adventure to a relaxing island experience.
